Sexson Lifts Mariners Again

Two days ago it was a grand slam home run. Last night it was driving in three RBI in two hits that allowed Seattle to build a 7-0 lead after just two innings before cruising to a 7-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Sexson hit a single in the first that scored Jose Lopez and followed it up with a double in the second that would score Ichiro and Raul Ibanez (former Royal).

Seattle’s win along with the losses of the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics pull the Mariners within two games of first place in the AL West. Seattle has won four of their last five games and will face Baltimore again tonight in the final game of their series.

In a related story the Kansas City Royals have lost 12 games in a row.
