World Series Preview & Prediction

The play-offs have been horrible for me to pick! I missed every single AL series along with the NLCS. Now that we are into the World Series I have one major handicap. An AL team is playing and I am cursed when it comes to picking play-off games featuring American League teams.

Logic says to go with the Tigers pitching. Kenny Rogers has been untouchable in the play-offs with 14 strike outs, a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA. The entire Tigers staff is dangerous and can throw serious heat giving Detroit an advantage not only with the starting pitchers but also in the bullpen.

Pitching is supposed to win championships but just as the Tigers have the advantage on the mound the Cardinals are dominate from the plate and in the field. Kenny Rogers may have the perfect ERA in the play-offs but So Taguchi has a perfect batting average for the Cardinals. Add Albert Pujols’ eight runs scored and Yadier Molina’s 7 RBI’s and you have the makings of a great series.

The difference in this series will be the golden gloves of Scott Rolen and Jim Edmonds and the “impossible to steal on because he has a cannon” catcher Yadier Molina. I don’t see this series lasting fewer than six games and I hope it goes seven because baseball fans would love it.

My Prediction: Cardinals in 6
