Big 12 Football Power Rankings



1. Texas 6-1, 3-0 – The Longhorns flexed their muscle against the Baylor Bears but showed again that their secondary could be trouble. Baylor passed for 320 yards and two touchdowns against Texas. Potentially Dangerous Games: October 21st at Nebraska. Last Week’s Ranking #1

2. Nebraska 6-1, 3-0 – Kansas State provided no threat to the Huskers on Saturday as well as no threat to Nebraska’s power rankings. After surviving a scare from Kansas the Huskers got back on solid footing with a win over Iowa State.

3. Oklahoma 4-2, 1-1 – Oklahoma will now face the biggest challenge of the season. Not the Colorado Buffaloes but life without Adrian Peterson.

4. Texas A&M 6-1, 1-2 – Anyone else surprised to see the Aggies here? The question now is will they be able to stay? A loss to Oklahoma State this weekend would erase the Missouri win. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #7

5. Oklahoma State 4-2, 1-1 – OSU exploded in the second half against the Jayhawks. Now let’s see if they can keep that momentum going this week against A&M.

6. Missouri 6-1, 2-1 – All good things must come to an end and last Saturday the Texas A&M Aggies ended the Tigers undefeated season as well as the talk that Missouri could possibly knock off a south team in the conference title game. 7. Baylor 3-4, 2-1
– The bad news for the Bears is that they lost to Texas. The good news is that they played a decent game which keeps them from falling too far. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #6

8. Kansas 3-4, 0-3 – Things looked great for the Jayhawks for two and a half quarters. Then OSU rained down 42 points. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game but Colorado (October 28th). Last Week’s Ranking 10

9. Iowa State 3-4, 0-3 – The Cyclones were run over by Adrian Peterson. It seems as if the season is quickly falling apart for the Cyclones. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game but Colorado (November 11th). Last Week’s Ranking #9

10. Colorado 1-6, 1-2 – Well, we know they are better than Texas Tech! Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking 12

11. Texas Tech 4-3, 1-2 – An embarrassing loss to Colorado has brought the Red Raiders to a new low. Both in team morale and in the power rankings.

12. Kansas State 4-3, 1-2 – The Wildcats were playing a better team but their performance was less than impressive.
