Heisman Performances


Last week you voted to add Texas Tech quarterback Cody Hodges (left) to the My Opinion on Sports Heisman watch list. He responded by having a monster game against the Kansas State Wildcats and is now set for a showdown with our “most deserving” candidate, Texas quarterback Vince Young.

Here are our candidates, to be voted on at the end of the year, ranked from most deserving to not living up to the hype.

1. Most DeservingVince Young (QB) Texas – 25-29 336 yards 2 TD’s, 10 rushes 58 yards 3 TD’s.
Overall Stats – 93-138 1357 yards, 12 TD’s, 5 INT’s, 75 rushes 413 yards, 5 TD’s.

2. Close Second Reggie Bush (RB) USC – 15 rushes 160 yards 2 TD’s, 4 receptions 35 yards
Overall Stats - 86 carries 761 yards, 8 TD’s, 17 receptions 226 yards 2 TD’s.

3. On Fire - Cody Hodges (QB) Texas Tech – 44-65 643 yards 5 TD’s, 2 INT’s
Overall Stats – 192-268 2461 yards, 22 TD’S, 5 INT’s.

4. Slipping Matt Leinart (QB) USC – 17-32 301 yards, 2 INT’s
Overall Stats – 125-198 1948 yards, 12 TD’s, 5 INT’s. 2 rushing TD’s

5. Not Living Up to the Hype Jarod Zabransky (QB) Boise State – 20-27 249 yards 1 TD, 9 rushes 40 yards 2 TD’s.
