Sooners Take 2 of 3 from Baylor

Baylor took an early 8-0 lead on the Sooners but OU fought their way back by scoring four runs in the fifth and then five more in the eighth to take an 11-8.

Eleven runs would be all Oklahoma needed on Sunday afternoon as they held on to beat the Bears 11-10 and take the second game of the three game series.

“Things did not go our way early and we battled through a lot of adversity to record a win.” Said Sooner head coach Sunny Galloway. “The four-spot in the inning gave the guys the confidence to come back in this game and I am really proud of the way we stayed in the game today.”

The Sooners dropped the first game of the series 6-5 on Friday but rallied to win 5-2 on Saturday and Sunday’s 11-10 decision. The weekend series improved OU’s record to 20-6 and 2-1 in Big 12 action. Baylor dropped to 16-8 and 3-3 in conference play.

OU will play Dallas Baptist on Tuesday in Norman before hosting a weekend series with the defending National Champion Texas Longhorns this weekend.
