Dolphins Take Prime-Time on NFL's Opening Night

The NFL regular season schedule won’t be announced and released until sometime in April but the NFL did release the opening weekend schedule and the Thanksgiving Day schedule.

The season will officially “kick-off” on Thursday September 7 at 7:30 CST when the Miami Dolphins visit the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers on NBC.

The rest of the nationally televised schedule will feature the Dallas Cowboys at the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday September 10 at 3:15 CST on Fox. The Sunday night primetime game on NBC will make history as two brothers face each other for the first time as opposing quarterbacks. The Indianapolis Colts will visit the New York Giants.

Monday night will mark the premier of Monday Night Football on ESPN. It will also mark the first ever regularly scheduled Monday night double-header. The first game will feature the Minnesota Vikings at the Washington Redskins and the late game will be the San Diego Chargers at the Oakland Raiders.

Thanksgiving Day will feature an NFL triple-header! The Dolphins will play at Detroit on CBS and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will visit the Dallas Cowboys in a game that will be featured on Fox. The NFL network will feature the late game as the Denver Broncos visit the Kansas City Chiefs.
