The Cows are Coming Home

If you are one of those people who like to party till the cows come home then it’s time to start winding down the party. The LSU Tigers sent the Texas Longhorns packing Saturday night in Atlanta.

Both teams seemed to be equal with on another during the first 40 minutes of the game but the Tigers stepped up in the overtime while the Longhorns seemed confused and frustrated.

LSU dominated the game on the inside and Texas is still looking for LaMarcus Aldridge to show up. 2 of 14 shooting with 4 points just won’t cut it in the Elite 8.

I tried to send out a warning about Memphis! These guys hadn’t been tested in the tournament and had no answer for the UCLA defense and it was and ugly, ugly game. How ugly was it? During the first 8:30 of the second half Memphis had only one field goal and it was a credited goal on a goal tending call.

Two Down-Two to Go!

George Mason/UConn
UConn got their scare from Washington on Friday night. It won’t happen again Sunday afternoon! I have touted George Mason for most of the college basketball season and they have had a good run but it will end here.

On the other hand, what a story it would be for George Mason to knock-off the #1 seed and advance to the Final Four. Don’t hold your breath.

Villanova/Florida
I’m calling for an upset here. I put Villanova in the same category as Memphis. A team with loads of talent but can get out muscled and out hustled at times. Look for that to happen against Florida and for the Gators to win a tight one.
