Bowl Records

Maybe the Big 12 wasn’t so bad after all. The conference tied the ACC at 5-3 for the best bowl record but the conference outscored bowl opponents by 31 points and the ACC was outscored by 22 points. Oh yeah, and the Big 12 won the national championship. Here are the conference bowl records.

Big 12 5-3
ACC 5-3
Pac 10 3-2
SEC 3-3
Big 10 3-4
Conf. USA 3-4
Mount. West 2-2
MAC 1-1
Independents 1-1
WAC 1-2
Big East 1-2
Sun Belt 1-2

It should be noted that even though the conference had a losing record the Big 10 did win two BCS games, but it should also be noted that those victories came against the two weakest BCS teams, Notre Dame and Florida State.

For all the criticism the Big 12 conference received this year for being a weak conference you have to give them credit for their bowl record and acknowledge them as one of the best, if not the best, conferences in America.
