College Football Week 12 Thoughts

Should there be a rematch?
The Ohio State/Michigan game did live up to the hype in the Buckeyes 42-39 win. The question now that both teams remain 1 and 2 in the BCS is should there be a rematch for the national championship?

The answer in my mind is both yes and no depending on who the other option is. If the other option is USC or Notre Dame then yes the Wolverines deserve to play Ohio State again. The Trojans lost to unranked Oregon State. Even if they run the table why should they pass Michigan who has only lost to the #1 team in the country?

As far as the Irish going over the Wolverines that matter was settled September 16th.

Now, if Florida or Arkansas were to get the nod ahead of Michigan then I would be all for it. Running the gauntlet of the S.E.C. with only one loss and winning a real conference title in a conference championship game is more impressive than a one loss team from the watered down Big 10.

What is your opinion? Should there be a rematch? Cast your vote in this week’s poll located in the right sidebar.

Back to the Big Least
I tried! I really did. I touted West Virginia, Louisville and even Rutgers in an attempt to give validity to the Big East. That all went out the window when Rutgers, the final unbeaten, and last hope for a BCS shakeup goes down hard to Cincinnati.

No Drama in the Hiesman Hunt
Does anyone believe that Troy Smith won’t win the Heisman Trophy? As far as I’m concerned you can cancel the invitations, forget the ceremony and just make the entire night about Troy Smith.

Mormons in Vegas?
BYU has accepted an invite to play in the Las Vegas Bowl against a Pac-10 team to be named later. The Cougars are the Mountain West Conference champions and are returning to Sin City for the second year in a row.
