Game of the Week: San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos – First place is on the line in the AFC West. The Chargers have the top scoring offense in the NFL averaging 33 points per game and the Broncos are the top scoring defense in the conference allowing only 12.3 points per game.
I’m taking the Chargers to pull off the upset on the road.
Game Not Worth Watching: Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals – For the second week in a row the Lions are featured in this section and for the second week in a row they will lose to a really, really bad team.
Worst Team in the NFL
The Arizona Cardinals are 1-8 on the season and rank 29th in scoring offense and 30th in scoring defense. They will have the opportunity to let go of the title as the NFL’s worst team this weekend when the Detroit Lions come calling.
Portis Goes on the Shelf
Redskins’ running back Clinton Portis only got to wear one costume to meet the press this season. He was placed on injured reserve Wednesday ending his season with almost as many injuries (4) as touchdowns (7).
"It was a rough year," Portis said. "It wasn't meant for us. It wasn't meant for me. Over the years, it's been lovely for me, and now I'm finally running into a bump in my road."
And You Though Brett Favre Was Old
The New England Patriots have a new quarterback on their roster. The team has brought in 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde to be the third team quarterback and run the scout team.
Vinny says he’s doing it because he loves the game and feels that he can still be productive. I say he’s doing it because the Patriots offer him on final shot at getting that Super Bowl ring. To bad he’s a few season’s too late.
Quarterback Carousel
Trent Green is back under center for the Kansas City Chiefs despite the fact that Damon Huard kept the team in the hunt with a 5-3 record while Green was injured. It will be interesting to see what happens with the home crowd if Green struggles against Oakland this weekend.
When the Redskins put Portis on the shelf they also put quarterback Mark Brunell on the bench. Jason Campbell will get his first start Sunday when the Redskins travel to Tampa Bay.

"They just told me to take the approach of `Go out there, be yourself,"' Campbell said. "'Just take every play one play at a time. If you make a mistake, keep your head up high and keep working hard, because you are going to get better from game to game."
I always thought that you wanted to start an inexperienced quarterback at home and not on the road. Granted the Buccaneers are not world beaters but it’s still a road trip. You have to wonder why this decision wasn’t made two weeks ago when the Redskins hosted Dallas.
