Big 12 Football Power Rankings


1. Texas 8-1, 5-0 – Sometimes when you are good you are lucky as well. Over the last two weeks the Longhorns have shown that they are really good and really, really lucky. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 24 Texas A&M. Last Week’s Ranking #1

2. Oklahoma 6-2, 3-1 – No Peterson, no problem. The Sooners defense has come around and are now forching turnovers and making stops. Allan Patrick has been more than expected in replacing Adrian Peterson. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 4th at Texas A&M November 25th at Oklahoma State. Last Week’s Ranking #2

3. Texas A&M 8-1, 4-1 – It’s November and A&M are still in contention to win the Big 12 championship. That could change over the next three games as the Aggies play Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #4

4. Oklahoma State 5-3, 2-2 – The question of the week has been, “Was OSU that good or is Nebraska that bad? The Cowboys will have a chance to show their true merit this weekend in Austin. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking 7

5. Missouri 7-2, 3-2 – Exposed! That is the best word to describe Missouri after last week’s tumping by Oklahoma. The Tigers are suspect on defense and a one man show on offense. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 4th at Nebraska. Last Week's Ranking 3

6. Nebraska 6-3, 3-2 – The Wheels are falling off in Lincoln. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 4th Missouri. Last Week’s Ranking #5

7. Kansas State 5-4, 2-3 – How bad is the north? Kansas State is still in the hunt for the division title. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #11

8. Texas Tech 5-4, 2-3 – The Red Raiders showed a lot of heart against the Longhorns last week. Unfortunately the didn’t show a lot of defense. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 11 at Oklahoma. Last Week’s Ranking #8

9. Baylor 4-5, 3-2 – Losing Bell for the season could cost Baylor their chance at a bowl game. The Bears must win two of their last three games. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #6

10. Kansas 4-5, 1-4 – At least they showed that they aren’t the worst team in the conference. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking 12

11. Colorado 1-8, 1-4 – A week after getting mathmatecialy eliminated from playing in the post season the Buffs gave Kansas their first conference win. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking 10

12. Iowa State 3-6, 0-5 – The Cyclones put Kansas State just a win away for being bowl eligible and are a loss away from being the second conference team eliminated from the post season. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #9
