Big 12 Football Power Rankings

1. Texas 9-1, 6-0 – The Longhorns are one win away from claiming the Big 12 South title essentially winning the conference championship. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 24 Texas A&M. Last Week’s Ranking #1

2. Oklahoma 7-2, 4-1 – Back-to-back wins on the road against one loss nationally ranked teams has the Sooners confidence soaring. This week Oklahoma is looking at a grudge match with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 25th at Oklahoma State. Last Week’s Ranking #2

3. Texas A&M 8-2, 4-2 – Why Fran? Why did you not give the ball to Lane from the three yard line? Nebraska and Texas are next on the schedule for A&M. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #3

4. Nebraska 7-3, 4-2 – The Huskers are now in the drivers seat to face Texas in Kansas City for the conference championship game. Too bad we’ve already seen how it turns out. Potentially Dangerous Games: None! Last Week’s Ranking #6

5. Missouri 7-3, 3-3 – What a rude awakening the last two weeks has been for the Tigers! Looks like “smoke and mirrors” worked in the non-conference but has been figured out in conference play. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 4th at Nebraska. Last Week's Ranking #5

6. Texas Tech 6-4, 3-3 – Tech ran the score up on Baylor last weekend. Now they have to travel to Norman where the Sooners are looking to avenge the game that was stolen from them last season. Potentially Dangerous Games: November 11 at Oklahoma. Last Week’s Ranking #8

7. Kansas State 6-4, 3-3 – The Wildcats will end their bowl hiatus and are moving in the right direction. We’ll see just how far they have come this weekend when they face the Longhorns. How bad is the north? Kansas State is still in the hunt for the division title. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #7

8. Oklahoma State 5-4, 2-3 – I guess the Bobby Reid for Heisman campaign has come to a halt. The Cowboys were humbled Saturday night in Austin where the Longhorns showed them that they still have a long way to go to become one of the conference’s elite teams. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #4

9. Kansas 5-5, 2-4 – Don’t look now but the Jayhawks are on a two game winning streak and are just a game away from going to a bowl for the second time in two years. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #10

10. Baylor 4-6, 3-3 – Guy Morris wasn’t happy with Texas Tech running up the score and he won’t be happy about the way the Bears are going to end. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #9

11. Colorado 1-9, 1-5 – How in the world did these guys beat Texas Tech? Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #11

12. Iowa State 3-7, 0-6 – Looks like the Cyclones could be marked as a homecoming opponent a few times next season. Potentially Dangerous Games: Every game left on the schedule. Last Week’s Ranking #12
