Sooners Get Buffalo'ed

Things had to go right for the Colorado Buffalos to beat the Oklahoma Sooners Wednesday night and boy did they ever. The Buffalos out rebounded the Sooners, who are the #1 rebounding team in the country, 41-32. Colorado also shot 19-22 from the free throw line despite being the worst free throw shooting team in the Big 12. To top it off Colorado shot lights out from the field down the stretch to put the Sooners away 84-75.

Richard Roby scored 28 points and Chris Copeland added 18 to lead Colorado. The Buffaloes have now moved into a tie with the Sooners for third place in the Big 12 and bolstered their argument that they deserve a spot in the NCAA tournament with their first win over a ranked team.

Colorado used a 10-1 run late in the game to take a 63-58 lead and they really never looked back after that. The Sooners went flat late in the game being out hustled and outplayed for the first time in conference play.

Michael Neal, who started in place of injured guard Austin Johnson, scored 28 points on 7-of-14 shooting from 3-point range to lead Oklahoma. Terrell Everett added 18 while Taj Gray and Nate Carter added 11 and 10 points respectively.
