The Sooners couldn’t overcome the pressure of having a 16 point lead on the road Sunday afternoon. After a monstrous Taj Gray dunk put OU up by 16 the Jayhawks took off on a 17-3 run that brought the team and the sellout crowd alive.
Kansas took the lead on a Julian Wright dunk following a Brandon Rush miss. Michael Neal followed that up with a three, putting OU back on top 58-57. Mario Chalmers then put Kansas up for good to make the final score 59-58.
Giving all due credit to Kansas this is a game that the Sooners should not have lost. I though that maybe over the course of the five game winning streak that OU would have learned to finish a team off but Kansas wouldn’t be finished.
The Jayhawks did what they needed to do to win the game and the Sooners didn’t. Kansas rallied behind their home crowd of 16,000 plus and OU just couldn’t handle the pressure.
