NFL Round-Up, Week 13

Conference Rankings
AFC West 29-19
NFC South 27-21
NFC East 26-22
AFC South 25-23
AFC North 24-24
NFC North 22-26
NFC West 21-27
AFC East 18-30

Big Game
Giants 17, Cowboys 10
The Giants defense recorded four sacks, two interceptions and two fumbles leading their team to sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

Drew Bledsoe was a pitiful 15 of 39 for 146 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. The Cowboys now may be in danger of missing the play-offs.

Big Upset
Another week with no real upsets. The Browns and the Titans got close but couldn’t hang on against better competition. The good news for the Titans is that they are still in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

Worst Game
Seattle Seahawks 42, Philadelphia Eagles 0

Hands down this has got to go to the Monday night game. How much worse can it get for the Eagles? Philly committed six turnovers, including 3 that were returned for touchdowns, which led to the 42-0 rout. This Eagles team has no offense and isn’t going to finish above .500, quite a turnaround for the defending NFC Champs.

Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins completed their biggest comeback victory since 1974 against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Chris Chambers made a leaping touchdown catch over Bills cornerback Jabari Greer with just six seconds left in the game. Chambers catch completed the comeback that started at the 11:35 mark of the fourth quarter when the Dolphins trailed 23-3.

Back-up quarterback Sage Rosenfels played the best game of his pro career in just under a half. Rosenfels, who came in during the 3rd quarter when Gus Frerotte was knocked out, led the Dolphins on fourth quarter scoring drives of 70, 49 and 73 yards throwing for touchdowns on all of them.

The Dolphins have now won one more game than they did last season and are staying alive in the division by moving into second place. Miami will play at San Diego this Sunday and will have their hands very full. Every game from here on out is a must win game.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

Big Game

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Colts have already clinched a spot in the play-offs and can clinch the division title with this win. Jacksonville struggled a little against Cleveland this weekend before gaining control and the Colts dominated the ailing Titans. Look for Indianapolis to move to 13-0.

Prediction: Colts 28, Jaguars 13

Possible Upset
Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans
I would like to call my Dolphins over the Chargers here but I can’t. Instead I’m going to call the Houston Texans over the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are decimated with injuries and are struggling to move the ball on offense. I think the Texans can capitalize on that.
Prediction: Texans 17, Titans 13
