Several players from Oregon and head coach Mike Bellotti had some interesting things to say about the OU defense.
>“This is the best defensive football team we’ll face,” Bellotti says of Oklahoma. “All 11 people present problems to us in terms of speed, they’re well-coached, and they play hard up front. Linebackers are the key to that defense. They drop (in coverage) and blitz and come at you and do a nice job.” Says Demetrius Williams: “It’s a better defense than we’ve seen (this year) — a lot of speed — and we have to match up and exceed it.”
On the quarterback situation Bellotti says Dennis Dixon remains the starting quarterback and Brady Leaf “will play more than most backups” in the Holiday Bowl.
