Buy, Sell and Trade

Baseball’s hot stove league is smoking hot! You almost need a scoreboard to keep up with the number of moves that some teams are making. There were some interesting buys, sells and trades last week. Here are the most interesting ones in my opinion.

Buy

San Francisco Giants
– Have found the proven starter they've been coveting for months in Matt Morris.

The free agent right-hander agreed to a $27 million, three-year contract with the Giants, leaving the St. Louis Cardinals after nine seasons.

Los Angeles Dodgers - Added a veteran presence behind the plate Saturday, signing catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. to a one-year contract.

Sell

Houston Astros
- Declined arbitration on the seven-time Cy Young Award winner, effectively ending his tenure with the defending National League champions.

Florida Marlins – Who is not for sale in the Marlins organization?

Trade
Los Angeles Dodgers
- Traded Milton Bradley to the Oakland Athletics. Los Angeles also sent infielder Antonio Perez to Oakland and will receive outfielder Andre Ethier, the Texas League player of the year.

Texas Rangers - Traded second baseman Alfonso Soriano to the Washington Nationals for outfielders Brad Wilkerson, Terrmel Sledge and minor league pitcher Armando Galarraga.

Those are a few of the transactions that are interesting to me. How about you?
