Dolphins’ Defense Improving

Daunte looked solid (14-19-130) and Chris Chambers was dominant (7 receptions 67 yards and 1 td) but it was the Miami defense I wanted to check out on Thursday night.

After getting torched in their pre-season opener I wanted, no needed, to see improvement and I did. Miami held Carolina to just 9 first downs, 2-14 on third down, and just 145 net yards.

There were no long touchdown passes against Miami on Thursday night. In fact there were no touchdowns scored against the Defense. The Panthers only touchdown came on a Deangelo Williams 98 yard kick-off return.

Matt Roth, who stood out on the defense by disrupting several plays, registering four tackles and a sack, looks like he is going to be a stud and Big Daddy Dan Wilkinson is proving to be an exceptional addition.

In all, I was impressed with both the offensive and defensive performances.
