Last Minute Football Notes

As we come down the final stretch the Big 12 looks like it’s Texas’ conference to lose and I don’t think they will. OU is moving up the Big 12 power rankings and along with Kansas and Nebraska and A&M are in a free fall.

Big 12 Power Rankings
1. Texas – Returned to their normal dominance against Baylor.
2. Texas Tech – Will at least finish as the 2nd best team in Texas.
3. Colorado – Needs to handle business against Iowa State.
4. OU – The off week allowed the Sooners to get healthy.
5. Iowa State – May be too late to win the North but could make a statement against Colorado.
6. Kansas – One more win and the Jayhawks are bowling.
7. A&M – Has lost 3 of last 5 including 2 in a row.
8. Missouri – Team could be giving up on the season.
9. Nebraska – Have reached a 36 year low.
10. Kansas State – There is definitely a drop in the North after Colorado % ISU.
11. Baylor – Shut out two weeks in a row.
12. Oklahoma State – Only team without a conference win.

Big Game
Texas A&M @ Oklahoma
For the preview on this game check out the tag team preview with Texas A&M & Baseball. His preview is here and mine is at his site.

Possible Upset
Kansas @ Texas
I’m just kidding its Baylor @ Missouri. They Bears have been shutout two weeks in a row but the Tigers are bad on defense and I think there is a good chance the team is quitting on the season.
Prediction: Baylor 27/Tigers 21

Must Win
Colorado @ Iowa State
If the Cyclones lose this game then the Buffalos have won the North and will have a rematch against Texas for the Conference Championship.
Prediction: Buffalos 31/Cyclones 17

Game No One Cares About
Kansas State @ Nebraska
Wow, at one point I thought this game could determine the North Champion. Now it could determine who’s in the cellar.
Prediction: No one cares

Other Big 12 Games
Kansas @ Texas
Focus Mac-son and you will win your first Conference Championship.
Prediction: Texas 45/Kansas 10

Texas Tech @ OSU
It seems like 10 years ago since OSU last won a football game. Its senior day in Stillwater and unfortunately this class will leave without winning a home conference game.
Prediction: Tech 56/OSU 24
