Buying a car should be a joyful experience. However, as in many other industries there are people in car sales who are looking to take advantage of consumers who just don’t know any better. In fact, there are some who are so good at this that even a person who does their research can be taken to the cleaners on a bad used car deal.
This is why the Lemon Law was created, so that it may be an advocate for consumers who have been taken advantage of. Lemon Law information is easily available and varies state by state. In most cases you do have the right to get your money back or seek a replacement for you vehicle as long as certain requirements are met.
California Lemon Laws state that a vehicle must have been taken in for service on four or more occasions for a defect that substantially impairs the use or value of the vehicle as one of the requirements for consumers to be protected.
If you are a person who has been taken advantage of the best advice is to check the Lemon Law statutes by state and see what the appropriate action is for you to take. There are people who can help you!
